Director’s Cut (2015)

This short film is about a washed-up actor, Canada Lee, who reluctantly signs on to star in and direct a remake of Federico Fellini’s masterwork 8 1/2. To his surprise the director he is replacing, Monty, has assumed the identity of the film’s protagonist and won’t abdicate his position without a fight. Originally designed as a trilogy - Director’s Cut, Director’s Cut 2: Director’s Cut, and Director’s Cut 3: Commenterror - this thriller is a tongue-in-cheek take on meta-filmmaking and directorial navel-gazing.
